Meeting politicians…

Thanks to the great efforts of Andrew Geddes from our PR firm – City Public Relations – and the ‘on-ground’ support and introductions in Parliament House of Kristy McSweeney, I had fruitful conversations with Tim Wilson MP for Bentleigh (check out our picture!) and Chief Government Whip Bert Van Manen MP and making financial advice more valuable for more Australians.

The session in Parliament House and meetings convinced me policy seems to be more about the ‘legwork’ not only the ’cause’. Bert Van Manen being a former risk financial adviser was supportive of discussions to separate financial advice from financial product by re-writing sections of Australia’s Corporations Act. The issue, as always, is priorities. Further meetings are being arranged by our PR resources with Jason Falinski MP, Andrea Bragg MP, Zali Steggal and representatives from One Nation – updates will follow – anyone with ‘contacts’ with politicians, let’s hookup and discuss influencing as many as possible. Australians need better policy to access valuable advice.

We’re creating a new EVENTS page for all up-coming webinars, Roundtables, Workshops, Certainty Adviser conferences. It’s been in development and hopefully provides everyone with on click to see what is coming up in date order. We understand that the constant stream of emails promoting different events can be confusing to understand what each provides and what ‘style’ of event and content will include. Love to hear your feedback.

LIVE EVENTS?

We’ve been asked when are we going live again with workshops as we did each quarterly pre-Covid. Looks like 2022 when vaccines are widespread and state borders are less inclined to be closed. For Certainty Advisers we are running an event August 12th here in Manly followed by dinner, but all other events will hopefully be scheduled for Manly workshops from February 2022. Will obviously keep everyone updated.
