Despite COVID-19, a couple of Certainty Advice firms making great progress this week. Justin Mulcahy of Intrinsic Private Wealth in NSW’s Southern Tablelands converting long conversations with friends into SME consulting agreements for valuable fees. Tim Carrigg, of Apprise Advisory during Melbourne’s lockdown 3.5 – engaging for the first time in the SME market. While there are no ‘shallow ends’ in SME engagement, both firms now realise the scope and extent of the opportunities using Certainty Advice for SME’s.

Are you as amazed as I am at our regulator’s inability to regulate? There is not a basis for criminal charges for ‘fees-for-no-service’ charges which took millions from client accounts. If you or I took that much, I can’t imagine a similar outcome. Sure, the circumstances revolved around the sticky buyer-of-last-resort arrangements but when the Director of Public Prosecutions says “…based upon available evidence and relevant public interest”, the regulator could not proceed with charges.
After all the enquiries from Ripoll, Murray, Sedgewick, Cooper, Trowbridge, and Hayne’s Royal Commission it is obvious that fundamental change to level the unlevel playing field tilted in favour of product distribution won’t be righted by regulation. It will be levelled by the fundamental leveller – technology and sentiment.
